Background on "Worst Album Ever":
"Worst Album Ever" is my fifth album, released in 2003. The new
material for this CD was written and recorded in 2003, with half of the tracks
being rap songs, and the rest being from miscellaneous musical genres.
Most of the songs are parodies, but this album does also contain several
original songs, and one cover song at the end of the CD. I did most of the
vocals, but on this album I am joined frequently by special featured guest
collaborators and others making cameo appearances (Those people are all
mentioned above in the track listing). As a follow-up to 2002's "Uber
Geek", which was made as a tribute to the best albums of all time,
"Worst Album Ever" is an anti-tribute to the general experience of
buying a bad album. While the recorded material itself is well written and
(for the most part) recorded to the highest CD audio quality available, a
mysterious yet familiar-voiced person known only as 'Gilbert' pops up
interstitially throughout the album and points out to the listener just how
'bad' this album really is, encouraging you to stop listening to the CD.
Initial reviews of the album indicate that the fans are loving the album,
consider the title 'ironic', and think it contains some of my best work to date,
like "Stealing Like A Hobbit". At a length of 74 minutes (yet
again), I consider this CD to be a turning point in my career, as I transition
from being a primarily parody based artist, and start moving more towards making
original comedy rap music the focus of my work. Nonetheless, when
referring to this CD, it is always best to adopt the voice and mannerisms of the
Comic Book Guy from 'The Simpsons', and say it is the, "...WORST ...ALBUM
...EVER!"
