Steph's Convention and Show Reports!!!!!
(a new and hopefully frequent installment on www.lukeski.com)
Hey everyone! You hear about the tour dates in your email every five
minutes - I thought you might want to hear about how some of these conventions
actually go! I'm going to make an attempt here to give my very own
trip reports for some of the conventions and shows Luke does. Maybe
you like Luke's music, but aren't sure if you'd like going to a convention
because you wouldn't know what to expect? I'll see if I can shed a
little light on the subject. I do have to warn you though, I'm not a
gamer, so I can't tell you what the gaming is like. Typically, if I go to
panels, they are either about Buffy or the Joss Whedon universe, or something
that Luke is on, and recently I've been enjoying costuming panels. (Panels
are like lectures about a topic with a few people.) Basically, my
decision on whether or not a con is a good one depends on a few things.
Did we have fun? Did we feel welcomed? Was there karaoke? Did
we make some new friends? Did we get to hang out with some old
friends? And of course from the business side of things: Did Luke
have a good show? And that can be a whole ball of wax in itself
depending on whether or not Luke gets what he needs from the convention in order
to be able to perform, or if we know ahead of time that there will be some
improvising. I'm going to try not to delve into that aspect of things too
much, as I would really like to keep my focus on Luke and Steph......two people
that enjoy going to conventions and having fun (not to mention
karaoke!!)
